Ever had a weird craving to eat something you definitely weren’t supposed to? Like paper or a piece of shiny metal? Pica, an eating disorder often associated with vitamin and mineral deficiencies, causes cravings for non-food items that lack nutritional value. While Pica is most common among children, people with developmental disabilities, and pregnant women, many people outside of those categories that live with Pica everyday. Some of us fight the cravings while others indulge.
